WALLET FLAP - A type of seal flap that is deep and square in shape.
WATERMARK - Translucent mark visible when sheet of paper is held up to the light.
WEB CUT - Any envelope manufactured by means of feeding a continuous roll of paper
into an envelope machine which cuts the envelope blanks individually with inline
rotary knives. The most common web-cut envelope style is of side seam
construction.
WET OFFSET - Best quality. 150 line screen maximum. Oil or rubber based
inks. Includes flat sheet lithography.
WINDOW - An opening in the envelope with or without a translucent patch designed to
allow the contents inside the envelope to show through, such as a mailing address, return address and/or special message. Eliminates the duplication of effort and the potential for error in addressing envelopes. Cutout can be left open with no patch, except in Canada.
WOVE - Paper having a uniform surface and no discernible marks. Soft, smooth finish, most widely used envelope paper. Relatively low opacity, brightness and bulk. However, recent changes in paper making from acid to alkaline sheets have improved the brightness. Mostly run in white.
