The envelopes appear crooked or inexact. Bad cutting or folding. Contact your paper distributor.
Registration imprinting is off. Make sure tail and side registration marks are printed.
Sheets not marked as to gripper guide. Mark gripper guide on sheet and do not change from furnished layout.
Poorly jogged paper. Make sure paper is properly jogged and securely packaged or banded for delivery to National Envelope.
Layout position changed from furnished drawing causing poor break. When stripping areas, do not move position as per furnished layout. If printer wants to mechanically step and repeat, let National Envelope know and a layout for step and repeat will be furnished.

The order was run short of desired quantity.  Not enough stock was furnished. Ask for proper waste factor
based on quantity of paper and
on envelope construction.
Problems with paper.  Contact your paper distributor.
Problems in die cutting.  Contact your paper distributor.
Problems on folding machine.  Contact your paper distributor.
Unnecessary waste due to cutting and folding before paper is dry
and conditioned to converting
environment.
Full ink coverage should have varnish applied to print areas to speed up drying time.

Bleed copy runs short of edge Not enough bleed was given
when job was printed.
1/8" Bleed is required on
Commercial sizes and 1/4"
on Catalogs and Booklets.
Conformity varies. Poorly jogged paper. Make sure paper is properly jogged and securely packaged or banded for delivery to National Envelope.

Gum does not stick properly. Insufficient seal gum was
applied to the envelope.
Contact your paper distributor. More seal gum may be applied after conversion.
Porous paper absorbs moisture too quickly. Contact your paper distributor.
Envelopes are over-stuffed
causing flap to separate before adhering
Apply pressure to the flap for a longer period of time. Adding a wetting agent may help.
Gum does not stick sufficiently due to ink or varnish coverage. "Knockouts" or areas void of ink or varnish must be used when printing to allow paper-to-paper bond for gum adhesion. Notify your paper distributor when quoting or ordering a layout if there is a solid or full ink coverage. A layout indicating "knockout" areas will be furnished.

Delivery of envelopes is late or delayed. The envelope layout instructions were not followed. Do not change envelope layout position when printing. If the position must be changed, the sheets should be trimmed to the original specs before delivery to National Envelope.
Ink does not dry in time to convert for promised delivery. On large ink areas, varnish can be added to help dry ink.
The paper does not arrive when originally planned. Deliveries are normally quoted after receipt of the paper. To insure on-time delivery, communicate with us as best as possible.
