When we recommend straight-grain envelopes:
- Whenever aesthetics are important.
- Whenever the paper you've specified has a laid or a directional,
textured finish that will
accentuate the grain direction.
- Whenever the envelopes will be stored and not used immediately.
Diagonal-grain envelopes tend to warp over time, and can cause
significant problems for printers and for users of automated
office equipment, especially laser printers.
When we recommend diagonal-grain envelopes:
- When you have specified a large quantity of envelopes that
will be used immediately.
- When you are using a commodity-grade paper.
- When none of the above is important.
